Own Mind or Christ Mind


Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus
Philippians 2:5

There is an old saying, and ancient proverb, that all of us have heard people say. Like father, like son. That is an indication that people pattern people. Paul is saying to the church at Philippi that they are to be a reproduction, or a replica of Christ. That is, we are to be like Christ, mind the same things, have the same values, and have the same appearance as Christ. We are looking for identical identity, as a principle for Christian living. In Him we live, move, and have our being.

Spiritual imaging everyday is what we are striving for. Our mind involves several areas, our thoughts, information that the mind retains, and our ability to think. We all know that people like to play games with our mind. In a sense, the greatest battlefield in the world is located between our ears. There is a battle for our mind, there is a high cost in listening to satan, and know this that listening to the Lord is priceless.

When Jesus was tested and tempted by Satan in the wilderness, Jesus was able to be victorious because he had meditated upon and thought about the scriptures so much that he could think straight and not be deceived. Christ demonstrated a sound mind.

We can have the same mind that Christ Jesus had, which means we are all capable of thinking Christ's thoughts. The text here informed us of the need to imitate Christ through a life styles that speaks of His everyday presence with us, and our ability to live in Him, make wisdom decision.and effective christian living everyday.

Transforming our minds toward the mind of Christ comes through scriptures memory, that will keep rising up as a defence machanism through out one's life. What did David say, thy word have I hidden in my heart that I may not sin against You. 

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, now thata's a good defence system that will stand the test.It is impossible for theunbeliever think like Christ. The natural man thinks according to a man. That is why he or she doesn't like the christian life style, nor those who proclaim the gospel, church life is not just for them. The need the mind of Christ. They are just not capable of thinking like Christ until they have been born again. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ. It is adaptable, and everyone has access to it To have the mind of Christ we must also have a mind of sacrifice, discipline, obedience to the will of God and humility.

We must work at being Christ minded. People will still see our short comings and failures in all of us who are Christians in the church and around our life styles. We are a work in progress, working toward perfection. We won't be prefect till we "see him as he is." bible says we will be like Him. In Him let us be all that we can be, love like Him, bless like Him and serve like Him. To live in the power of His resurrection.

Dear Friends, It pays to stay in the word of God. The more God occupies our thoughts, the more preoccupied we are with the mind of Christ, the more the Spirit of the Lord will shape our thoughts, feelings, emotions, relationships, becoming like Him in all things, the imageing of God. The question today. What do people see when they see us as Christians? Do they see Christ?

This Lenten Season We can't think nor be like Him unless we have His mind. If we have His mind, we must let Him do the thinking. In all things Lord what would you have me to say or do. Are you willing to lose your mind to receive Christ mind? Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.

Fight or Reconcile?

River or Canal Faith?
